This is an unbelievable story and should never have happened!  I actually called one of the lawyers I routinely refer to my clients to RE-ASSURE myself that he was as “buttoned up” as possible where procedures are concerned, as I’ve always thought he was!  And I WAS re-assured!  Phew!

Who could imagine that you buy a property with a lovely back garden complete with storage shed, only to find out, once you take possession, that uh, no.  The backyard you thought was yours and “came with” the house and deck? Not yours!  Oh and did I mention that half the deck is not included in the sale either! Buyers Beware!

What in heaven’s name do you do?  Is there a solution? Who’s at fault? How did no one know about this most bizarre circumstance?  How did you end up with a house but virtually no land?

Here’s how.  Be VERY discriminating when it comes to your decision on whom you choose for such important professional roles…Realtor, Lawyer, Lender…everyone!  Please Buyers….. Beware!
