OR…are you a MLS “junkie” who can never get enough info. Are you one who trolls all the various Real Estate sites searching for every bit of info but find that your thirst for knowledge about the market is rarely quenched? Do you believe the public MUST have access to this data in order to make an informed decision about buying or selling?
Well, TREB has appealed this but it could be that TREB is going to have to accede to the Tribunal’s demand for knowledge and power. The reality is, a professional Realtor’s added value is not so much in supplying comparative sold prices to our clients. Rather the expertise lies in the INTERPRETATION of those stats and responsibly guiding our clients through the process so that they understand what those numbers mean to THEIR listing and purchasing decisions. And even more critically, it is our ability to formulate strategic plans and successful negotiating tactics that actually win the day that make us so valuable to our clients.
At least that is how I see it. Here is the Toronto Real Estate Board’s defence (just so we have full transparency on the issue) What do YOU think?
